Why Regular Maintenance Matters for Granulators

A plastic granulator is a major investment for any recycling or manufacturing facility. Without regular maintenance, even the most robust granulator can suffer from decreased efficiency, inconsistent granule size, higher energy consumption, and unexpected breakdowns that halt production.

1. Inspect and Sharpen Blades Regularly

2. Clean the Cutting Chamber and Screen

Material build-up inside the cutting chamber and on the screen reduces throughput and affects granule quality. Contamination from different plastic types can also compromise the purity of your output.

Best practice: Clean the cutting chamber after every material change and at the end of each shift. Remove and inspect the screen for blockages, tears, or wear. Replace damaged screens immediately.
